A new experimental drug could increase the effectiveness of anti Hepatitis C, while reducing the time required for treatment. Telaprevir is an American company Vertex Pharmaceuticals. It blocks an enzyme known as protease, which is required for the spread of the virus.
Studies have shown that the use of Teraprevira in combination with standard treatment allows a 2-fold reduction therapy Xeloda against this type of hepatitis.
Currently, hepatitis C combination treatment using drugs such as interferon and ribavirin, the newspaper said. However, the treatment lasts about a year and can cause side effects. As a result many patients are not dolechivayutsya to the end or refuse treatment altogether.
